I Blame Dave!

Lately, when something unexpected and a little costly* happens, Ed says, "Well, I blame Dave!"

If you have been around us at all the past six months, you know we are on the Mother of All Debt Reduction Programs.  We are working toward Debt Free.  We want to be one of those insanely happy callers who phone Dave Ramsey and scream and shriek as they burn mortgages and chop credit cards.

In the past six months, God has helped us in amazing ways.  Once our point of view (POV, to you writers out there) changed, we have found dozens of ways to make this work.   And we find more almost every week, as I told about in the blog about our (former) insurance coverage.

And, yes, we chopped up all our credit cards.  We don't owe one red cent to a credit card company.  And we didn't just borrow from Peter to pay Paul.  (Who were those guys, anyway?  Did the apostles run a Payday Loan Service back in Jerusalem?)  Those debts are GONE.

We have also simplified considerably by changing out all our vehicles to good old used cars.  Hence the trouble with our (former) insurance company.

With all the changes, we have had some glitches...which is why Ed sometimes says, "Well, I blame Dave!"  But we blame him happily, because now we are on the way to getting rid of the house debt.

We not only blame Dave, we highly recommend him!

*Unexpected and a little costly = adjective phrase used in cases such as needing a brand new gas hot water heater (which deserves a blog post all its own!), needing to attend a wedding in Colorado (subject of another post sometime, too), needing a new tire for a motorcycle, needing new brakes for a car, needing to take Sophie to the vet because she ate too many green tomatoes (!!) and her insurance paid $8.10 of the fee.  (Might be time to reassess that insurance, too!)
